10/9 Evening Update

Hi Everybody,

Two quick things: Courtney's been talking (more on that later) and the planning meeting for Court's fundraiser is at 4:30 tomorrow (Wednesday) on UVM's campus. We are meeting in Morrill Hall at the Center for Rural Studies Conference Room on the top floor, everyone is invited.

I'll be right back.

I was blown away this morning when my sister Julie put Courtney on the phone. She actually said hi! It was somewhat difficult to understand, but I think I really heard a hi. She tried to say a few other things - a bit garbled, but she's really trying. I was so impressed and surprised that she could say anything at this point - even before speech therapy! Yahoo!

Best of luck on the way to Boston on Wed.! Courtney is on her way!

To everyone who has been through this journey with Courtney and her family:
Since arriving here in Burlington Wed. morning,Sept.12th numbed by the horrible news of my daughter's cardiac arrest, never have I seen such a show of love and support for Courtney and all of her extended family. The entire waiting room of the ICU was filled with concerned, worried friends. I just want to say how grateful we are to meet all of you. I only wish it had been under different circumstances. Everyone has been more than generous with their time and hospitality. I can't say enough about all of you. Just know that we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We are eternally grateful and we will never forget you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Love and blessings to all, Julie

SEAN,
I don't even know where to start...you have been an amazing source of strength and your constant updates to this wonderful blog you created for Courtney have been and hopefully will continue to keep people informed of Court's progress. And now embarking on a fundraiser. I don't know where you find the time. I can't thank you enough for all you have done. I can't wait until you come to Boston. It won't be the same without you so see you this weekend if not before.
For anyone who doesn't know, Sean is the reason Courtney is alive today. He performed cpr on her until the EMT's arrived and has barely left her side. What a true angel on earth you are!
With much love, Julie

Julie, in case you don't know it, you're an excellent writer! You stated your love and appreciation so beautifully to all of Courtney's friends.

I, too, want to express my extreme gratitude for everything you all have done for Court and her family. I don't know how we would have made it through this without you.

I hope we all keep in touch for many years to come!

See you in Boston! I'm coming out just before Christmas and I can't wait to see Courtney and her entourage of friends!

Love,

Marti (Courtney's Aunt)

Our only suggestion about starting a fund raising bank account for Courtney's benefit is that you use a bank with branches nation wide so that it is easier for those who wish to contribute. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with all of you for a safe journey to Boston today.

Sean, let me echo what Julie and many others are saying about this beautiful site you have created in Court's honor. It is the first place I go on the computer in the morning and the last place in the evening. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for all of us so that we can remain connected with Courtney and her progress.

Love to all, Sue and Ed

On fundraising .. consider PayPal which is a very easy means to make donations. Good luck with your meeting! Sean, you are a godsend.

AMEN to that (above comment)

If you do open a bank account in her name, make sure to contact her hometown news sources to let people she grew up with know what's going on. Members of her community may be willing to make donations as long as they know where to send them.
